Aug. 30—McCLURE — One foot of water poured inside the McClure Fire Station on Specht Street during a fast-moving rainstorm Thursday night.

“We estimate it rained about 10 inches in about 35 minutes,” volunteer firefighter Jordan Martin said.

McClure firefighters were called out at about 9:30 p.m. Thursday for a downed tree at the intersection of Route 522 and Forbes Street in the western Snyder County borough and the crew noticed about 1 1/2 feet of water outside the station’s bay doors.

Inside the station where fire vehicles are stored “there was about a foot of water and about six inches in the dining room, kitchen and bathrooms,” Martin said.
