Hanover (CO) FD Station Catches Fire; Two Rigs Lost

The Hanover Fire Department made the following Facebook post Monday, June 3:

“This afternoon (Sunday, June 2) Hanover Fire Department Station 2 caught on fire.

“The station sustained major damage and we lost two trucks along with other equipment,” the fire department said in the post. “We’d like to thank all of the agencies that responded to assist on this fire.”

Sunday evening around 5 p.m., crews from the Hanover Fire Department Station 2 were responding to a call in Fountain when they got word the station itself was on fire, kktv.com reported. The station is working to continue serving the public despite the damage the fire caused, the report said.

A fire official said everything that was in the building and the building itself is a complete loss, according to the report. Among the equipment destroyed were two fire trucks.

Although the fire caused considerable damage, the fire official he’s thankful no one was hurt and says the fire station is still operational, the report said.
