Tractor-Trailer Strikes Three Fire Engines on North Carolina Interstate

Fire trucks struck on I-85 in Rowan County

ROWAN COUNTY, North Carolina – Three fire engines were struck by a tractor-trailer while on the scene of a separate tractor-trailer fire in Rowan County Tuesday morning.

The collision occurred on Interstate 85 southbound near the Yadkin Bridge, according to WBTV and WGHP.

At approximately 3:00 a.m. firefighters from the Linwood Fire Department responded to a tractor-trailer fire on I-85.

While firefighters were extinguishing the burning semi, another tractor-trailer struck three fire Miller’s Ferry fire trucks, according to WBTV.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was injured and transported to a hospital.

No firefighters on the scene were injured.

The North Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
