A Pleasant View Volunteer Fire Department apparatus crashed early Wednesday, July 31, while responding to reports of a house fire, the fire department said in a Facebook post.

While the cause of the crash is under investigation, early findings show the engine attempted to negotiate a curve, then traveled off the roadway, entered a ditch and overturned on its passenger side, the post said.

The only firefighter on board was rushed to Skyline Medical Center with serious injuries, but is expected to make a full recovery, according to the post.
