The Butler Did It: Drunk Man Crashes into York County (VA) Fire Truck on July 4

Joshua Butler, 34, was arrested just prior to 1 a.m. on July 4 after he crashed his Jeep into a York County fire truck while driving under the influence.

Deputies responded to the area of George Washington Memorial Highway and Goosley Road for the accident after finishing up on a different crash in the area, reports 13newsnow.com.

Butler’s Jeep sustained heavy damage to the front, and two firefighters on the apparatus were taken to the hospital for treatment, the report notes.

Butler was charged with DUI, misdemeanor reckless driving for conditions of the road, and refusal to submit a breath sample, the sheriff’s office says.

The firefighter who was injured is a volunteer firefighter with the Northern Pendleton Fire District.
