PRESS RELEASE
The West Lake Fire Department welcomed its newest apparatus, Rescue 485, Monday, Sept. 4.
R485 is a 2022 Fouts Four Quick Attack built on a Ford F550 Crew Cab 4X4 Chassis with a 1,500-gpm Hale Pump, 300-gallon water tank with a 15-gallon integrated foam system. R485 is equipped with a Hurst E-Combi rescue tool as well as a full complement of firefighting tools.
The compact size of 485 will allow us to gain access to some areas of our district that are not very accessible to a full size engine, such as Waldameer and some of the homes located on the waterfront.
We purchased R845 with a grant obtained from the state with the help of Rep. Ryan Bizzarro.
Station 48 would like to thank Past Chief Dom Quadri and the committee that worked hard making sure the unit meets the current needs of the department.
