The Youngstown-Whitney Volunteer Fire Department took delivery of a new $800,000 Sutphen Monarch pumper March 4, latrobebulletinnews.com reported.
The new engine will replace a 1993 apparatus that, despite being well maintained over the years, is showing its age, the report said.
The apparatus features a 2,000-gallons-per-minute fire pump with Class A compressed air foam to six discharges including the deck gun, a Class B preconnected Foam discharge, 750-gallon booster tank, two MIV inlet valves, 600-horsepower engine, self-contained breathing apparatus seating for eight, and various fire and rescue tools.
