Three custom E-ONE Quest pumpers with compressed air foam systems were delivered to the Biloxi (Miss.) Fire Department to replace fire apparatus destroyed by water damage during Hurricane Katrina.
When looking to replace the units, the Biloxi Fire Department wanted a long-term solution with the latest comfort, technology and safety features available, according to E-ONE.
“We were impressed by the cab design, the room in the back of the cab, the tighter turning radius and the better visibility for the driver and officer,” said Dave Roberts, director of the Biloxi Fire Department.
Roberts worked closely with sales representative Neil Clark of Sunbelt Fire, Fairhope, Ala., to design the pumpers that best met the departments’ progressive needs, according to E-ONE.
“At Sunbelt Fire, our mission statement says that it is important to listen and know our customers needs in order to provide them with the best products and services,” said Clark. “We were pleased that Director Roberts and the Biloxi Fire Department allowed us the opportunity to listen to their needs and work with E-ONE to develop a product that meets those evolving requirements.”
Among the department’s requests was both Class A and Class B foam tanks and compressed air foam systems. The three new Quest pumpers are the first CAFS units in the department.
