Silver City (NM) Welcomes New $607K Pumper

The newest member of the Silver City Fire Department has finally arrived. Engine 21 will become the first due engine out of Station Two. Here pictured is SCFD admin and C Shift, who preformed the tradition of pushing the engine into its new home.

Engine 21 replaced a 2008 E-ONE pumper. A portion of the funding for the new pumper came from a grant applied for by the department, with the rest being covered by the town of Silver City, scdailypress.com reported.

The $607,000 pumper was purchased through Fire Fighter Trucks and built by Alexis Fire, located in Alexis, Iowa, the report said.
