Mendham (NJ) Approves Purchasing $1M Rescue-Pumper

The Mendham Fire Department is excited to announce the purchase of our newest engine, the fire department said in a Facebook post recently.

The department has spent multiple years researching, and testing different apparatus to ensure this engine meets the needs of our town. This new rescue-pumper will be replacing Engine 2, a 1998 Pierce, and Rescue 5, a 2003 Pierce. Both apparatus have been serving our town for over 20 years. Members believe this new rescue-pumper will better enhance our ability to serve the Borough of Mendham.

The Mendham Fire Department would like to thank Mayor Christine Serrano Glassner, our town council, and the residents of Mendham for the unwavering support!

The borough council approved the $1,049,333 purchase in December, with $220,000 coming from the general capital fund and $850,000 funded by bonds, according to council documents, patch.com reported.

The department purchased the rescue-pumper, which has a 750-gallon water tank, from Sparta-based Ferrara Fire, according to the patch.com report.
