Four DE Firefighters Injured After Fire Apparatus Overturns, Officials Say

The Aetna Hose, Hook and Ladder Company made the following Facebook post Saturday, Feb. 10:

NEWARK, Delaware — At approximately 10:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9, a fire apparatus from the Aetna Hose, Hook and Ladder Company was involved in an accident that resulted in the engine rolling over onto its side. The engine was turning from Elkton Road onto Christiana Parkway and was not responding to an emergency call. No other vehicles were involved in the incident. Four firefighters were transported to the Christiana Hospital, one in serious but stable condition, three other firefighters were in stable condition. The incident is currently under investigation by the Newark Police Department.
