PRESS RELEASE

We are excited to announce a piece of Perkins Fire Department history has come home! Thanks to the generous donation of Steve and Barb Moore, our original fire truck is back with the fire department.

The truck is a Dodge/American Fire Apparatus Company pumper. It was built in 1952 in Battle Creek, Michigan.

Our goal is to restore the vehicle without the use of taxpayer funds. The pumper would be used for parades and special events.

Thank you again to the Moore’s for their donation. We would also like to thank Joe and Ralph’s Garage for assisting with moving the vehicle, and Brad Link and the Public Works Department for providing a new home (hopefully temporary).
