Batavia (NY) FD Introduces New $800K Pumper

The city of Batavia Fire Department introduced its new Engine 12 to the public Wednesday, Jan. 3 with a “Push In” ceremony at City Fire Headquarters, the city said in a press release.

The cost of the new pumper was just under $800,000 and is being paid for through tax dollars and a $100,000 USDA grant. USDA also provided financing.

Old Engine 12, a 2002 Pierce Contender, is out of service and will most likely go out to auction.

The new pumper went into service December 29, 2023. Colden Enterprises trained each platoon on the operation of the truck.

Turnaround time from the initial order to receiving the truck from Spartan was less than a year, according to Captain Jamie Call.
