PRESS RELEASE
The Helena Fire Department will host a public ceremony at 3 p.m. Friday at Fire Station 1 at 300 Neill Avenue to celebrate its new Type 3 Wildland Fire Truck.
The ceremony is a common tradition among fire departments and is known as a push-in ceremony, organizers said. It includes the washing of the vehicle before slowly rolling the truck backward into the station with members of the community symbolically pushing.
Attendees can explore the engine at the start of the event, city officials said.
