PRESS RELEASE
Pine Bluff Fire & Emergency Services is excited to announce, and dedicate, the newest addition to its fleet: a customized 2023 Pierce 100-foot Tower/Ladder Fire Truck. A dedication ceremony was held Monday, June 10 at Fire Station No. 1.
The $1.6 million apparatus replaces a 1988 ladder truck that will be auctioned off, pbcommercial.com reported.
The new Pierce Tower/Ladder is equipped with tools needed for firefighters to respond to fire, medical, rescue and other emergencies. This apparatus includes an onboard water tank that carries 300 gallons of water, and is capable of pumping 2,000-gallons-per-minute. This new ladder will provide a much safer environment for our firefighters, and the community, when responding to emergency incidents.
In addition, the city also invested $805,000 in a 2023 engine that is stationed at the Joe Edwards No. 2 station on West Pullen Avenue but was on display at No. 1 Monday, pbcommercial.com reported. That was dedicated in April and replaced an engine from 2010, pbcommercial.com reported.
