Metal Shark Boats introduced the newest in its lineup of durable patrol boats, the 28 Relentless, as it announced a partnership with Rescue ONE geared toward the fire and rescue markets.

Agile and maneuverable, yet tough enough to withstand the harshest environments, the company described the 28 Relentless as the most versatile and customizable craft in the Metal Shark patrol series.

Multi-Mission Craft
The multi-mission craft is suited for a range of applications, from border protection and port security to drug interdiction and gunship operations. For fire suppression applications, the 28 Relentless features an optional integrated 750-gpm fire pump with a remote or manually-controlled monitor.

Meanwhile, Metal Shark said it had partnered with Rescue ONE Connector Boats to enhance Rescue ONE’s lineup of flood/dive rescue and firefighting vessels.

The partnership allows Rescue ONE to continue its focus on building small, versatile rescue boats while adding Metal Shark’s speed, capacity, and military-grade construction to the mix. Rescue ONE is now the sole agent offering Metal Shark Boats for sale to the fire and rescue markets.

The pairing allows Rescue ONE to offer models that qualify for the federal Assistance to Firefighters Grant program. The Metal Shark models to be offered under the Rescue ONE partnership are the Defiant series and the Relentless series.

“Metal Shark’s Relentless and Defiant series are some of the toughest, most-reliable rescue and fire boats available,” said Rescue ONE President Taylor Edge.

The new 28 Relentless is offered with what Metal Shark calls its most innovative option – the fully transformable Optimus cabin.

The cabin features air conditioning, heat and sliding side and rear windows. The convertible pilothouse design offers the luxury associated with a full cabin, but can be quickly and easily converted into an open center console with T-Top.

Engine Configurations
The standard features of the 28 Relentless include: a self-bailing cockpit with 6-inch scuppers; six 8-inch welded cleats; 150-gallon baffled aluminum fuel tank; hydraulic steering with stainless wheel; navigation lights; dual-switched batteries; and two 2,000-gallon-per-hour bilge pumps with auto/manual controls.

With a maximum rating of 600 horsepower, the Relentless can accommodate multiple engine configurations, including twin outboards, twin diesel/jet inboards or twin diesel/outdrive inboards.
