Manteca (CA) FD Takes Delivery of New $2M Tiller

The Manteca Fire Department took delivery of a Pierce Arrow tiller to replace its 15-year-old Sutphen quint aerial platform, the department said in a Facebook post Tuesday, June 18.

The 107-foot Velocity tractor drawn aerial, also known as a tiller, was ordered in 2021, according to the fire department.

The truck had to be ordered nearly two years in advance. It cost $1.7 million, mantecabulletin.com reported. By the time it is outfitted for service, the overall cost will reach $2 million.
