Los Angeles County (CA) Signs Contract with Rosenbauer America

Rosenbauer America announced today that they have signed a contract with the Los Angeles County Fire Department for 11 custom Rosenbauer Tractor Drawn Aerial (TDA) Quints. The contract was awarded to Rosenbauer through local dealer, Velocity Fire Equpment & Sales, who represents the Arizona, Southern Nevada, and Southern California areas.

The TDA Quints will be built on Rosenbauer Commander chassis. The Commander chassis is the industry’s safest, quietest, roomiest cab/chassis and provides customers with the ability to buy off the shelf parts to quickly maintain and keep the vehicle in service.

“The Rosenbauer Commander custom fire chassis offers indisputable reliability,” said Doug Feldman, Western Regional Manager of Rosenbauer America. “Engineered entirely with the goal of reduced maintenance stress, Rosenbauer broke away from industry practices by purposely using as many non-proprietary components as possible.”

The Rosenbauer TDA offers multiple body construction choices, tiller cab styles, and corrosion resistance coatings for the aerial device. TDA available features include SMART controls, hot dip galvanized steel to protect against corrosion, multiple fire truck body styles, CleanLockers, and CleanAir Recirculation Air Scrubbers, among other features.

Truck Features

Each of the Los Angeles County trucks will be equipped with:

▪ Rosenbauer “Viper” 4-section 100’ steel aerial ladder

▪ Waterous 1,500 gpm single-stage pump

▪ 300-gallon water tank

▪ 234’ of wood ground ladders

▪ 56’ 6” overall length

Los Angeles County and Rosenbauer are excited to enter this new relationship and work together to create the best quality and operational tiller.
