When DC Fire and EMS firefighters learned that the old platform from Tower 3 was headed to the scrap heap they decided it deserved a better fate.
So, firefighters grabbed the platform and wrestled it into the station and gave it a makeover. They outfitted it to serve as a watch desk, DC Fire and EMS reports via Twitter (Now known as X).
The platform now resides in the department’s Franklin Square firehouse.
