E-ONE Appoints Western Dealer

Classic West LLC has been appointed as the E-ONE dealer for Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Montana and southeastern Idaho.

“This is a large geographic area with many existing E-ONE customers,” said Dan White, sales manager for Classic West. “We realized this would be a great opportunity for Classic West to represent E-ONE to develop this market and support the needs of both existing and future customers.”

Established by Jim and Dan White, also of ClassicFire, LLC, headquartered in Ocala, Fla., the staff of Classic West has more than 30 years of apparatus sales experience in the Western U.S. market.

“The needs of western customers are significantly different from those in other regions of the country,” Dan White said. “The terrain is very diverse and massive brush fires are a constant threat. Our goals for the first year are to increase E-ONE’s presence in this region, build customer confidence and strengthen customer relationships.”

AEV Honored As Top Ambulance Builder

American Emergency Vehicles (AEV) has been recognized by Ford Motor Company as the number one ambulance manufacturer in the industry.

 “The ambulance industry is a very critical segment to the public safety of the U.S., and to Ford Motor Company,” said Jerry Renauer, vocational manager for Ford. “AEV has continued to grow to the point where they have now taken the coveted number one slot.”

AEV manufactures all models of emergency medical service vehicles from its production facilities in Jefferson, N.C. The company’s units are distributed throughout the world by a network of dedicated emergency vehicle dealers.

“Being recognized by Ford as number one is a great honor to our nameplate and to the AEV team,” said Mark Van Arnam, CEO of AEV. “We have continued to grow every year since our start in 1990, spending a few years in both the number three and then the number two positions. We have finally won the gold medal of our industry.”

Van Arnam also announced that AEV has earned another honor this year, being named a Carolina STAR company by the North Carolina Department of Labor Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Division.

The Carolina STAR program is the North Carolina equivalent of the federal OSHA Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP).

Akron Brass Names Two Managers

Sarah O’Connor has been named district sales manager for Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana for Akron Brass, and Steve Rowland as been appointed OEM (original equipment manufacturer) account manager.

Based in Dallas, Texas, O’Connor works with authorized Akron Brass distributors to meet the needs of municipal fire departments throughout her territory, including sales support for all nozzles, monitors and fire ground appliances. She’s also responsible for the line of reels, scene lighting, warning lights and hand tools.

O’Connor has several years experience in the fire service market and represents the third generation in her family that has work in the fire service.

Rowland will be responsible for the Southeast region of the United States with a focus on fire, ambulances and specialty vehicles. He joined Akron Brass in 2006 as the bus OEM account manager for the pupil transportation market.
