The Celestine Volunteer Fire Department made the following post on its Facebook page recently:

“Great news keeps rolling in as the progress on our new engine starts to roll. We were recently awarded a $30,000 grant through the Dubois County Community Foundation in conjunction with the Celestine Community Endowment. These funds are instrumental in allowing us to replace our aging apparatus with new apparatus that have new features and functions to give us the upper hand in fighting fires as they become more and more difficult to fight, despite rising apparatus cost. We are tremendously thankful for the support of the Dubois County Community Foundation and Celestine Indiana!”

The Dubois County Community Foundation made the following post on its Facebook page:

“We’re thrilled to announce our grant of $30,000 to the Celestine Volunteer Fire Department for the purchase of a new engine! Engine 262 is expected to arrive in late 2025, replacing their current 2003 model. We’re proud to support this critical upgrade, which will include features designed to enhance their response capabilities and overall efficiency. Stay tuned!”
