Cambridge (MA) FD Places New Pumper Into Service

The Cambridge Fire Department made the following Facebook post recently:

The Cambridge Fire Department placed its new pumper into service Monday, Sept. 30.

The new apparatus is a 2023 Pierce Enforcer, 1,250-gpm (gallons per minute) pump with a 500-gallon water tank. It incorporates TAK-4 T3 All Wheel Steering and energy efficient Idle Reduction Technology.

The All Wheel Steering will be advantageous in maneuvering through the narrow streets and tight corners of the district, especially during responses to emergency calls.

The pumper was delivered by the area distributor, Allegiance Fire and Rescue apparatus.

Thank you to the mechanics, tech services, and the members of Engine 2 (group 4) for completing the changeover.

As expected with the busiest company, the quick photo shoot in busy Lafayette Square was interrupted by the response to an alarm.

Engine 2 was organized in 1832 and has been bravely protecting Lafayette Square and our city for 192 years.
