According to a report broadcast by Fox 13, the new Rosenbauer Panther 2000 was two years in the making as Salt Lake City Fire Department personnel specified custom features for the apparatus.

The ARFF holds 3,000 gallons of water and 1,500 gallons of fire extinguishing chemicals, can pump 1,200 gallons per minute and has a high-reach extendable turret, according to Fox 31.

Salt Lake City firefighters have been training for weeks on the operations of the apparatus in preparation for today’s deployment, the TV station reported.
