Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Wednesday put in service two new apparatus: Rescue 74 at Station 55 and Rescue 13 at Station 13.
“On Wednesday, #MDFR inaugurated new service in two locations of Miami-Dade County,” the department writes on Facebook. “The first traditional firehouse push-in ceremony of the day welcomed #Rescue74 to the fleet at #Station55 in Cutler Bay. The new unit, staffed by three firefighter/paramedics, is expected to reduce response times to both the @townofcutlerbay and Palmetto Bay. Rescue 74 will respond out of Station 55 pending the completion of a new firehouse at Old Cutler Road and SW 181 Street.”

“The second of two new service launchings took place on Wednesday afternoon at #Station13 in East Kendall,” the department adds. “#Rescue13 was pushed into the firehouse by personnel and senior staff to signal the start of its service to the residents and visitors of Miami-Dade County. Rescue 13, staffed by three firefighter/paramedics, joins #Ladder13 to further enhance service delivery and reduce response times to medical calls in the Dadeland and surrounding Kendall area, which has experienced vertical growth in the past 10 years.”
