FDIC International 2023: IDEX Fire & Safety Divisions Exhibit a Variety of New Products

At FDIC International 2023, IDEX Fire & Safety is bringing new tools and technology with product launches, displays, and demonstrations of its portfolio of brands.

IDEX Fire & Safety

IDEX Fire & Safety extends SAM technology solutions with a new nozzle, equips first responders at extrication scenes with two new HURST Jaws of Lifetools that offer the widest spread on the market for a battery-powered tool and a custom-designed offering that recognizes the valor of the profession, and adds safety and performance with new safety cushions and lifting bags from Vetter. Products will be on display and experts on hand at IDEX Fire & Safety’s indoor (#1823) and outdoor (#14002, #14011, #19640) exhibit areas.

HURST Jaws of Life Products

  • HURST Jaws of Life® announces the availability of E3 CONNECT, a tool line that integrates its eDRAULIC® 3.0 rescue tools with IDEX Fire & Safety’s smart vehicle platform Captium™ Cloud to detect, record, and report on tool performance and potential issues.
  • HURST Jaws of Life® celebrates American pride with the limited-edition release of the E3 Hero Spreader, a custom-wrapped extrication tool displaying stars and stripes as a representation of the American flag. The limited edition E3 Hero Spreader is available in two tools from the eDRAULIC® 3.0 line: the SP 555 E3 Spreader and SP 777 E3 Spreader. Each tool will be sequentially numbered with model and year, capturing the limited-edition documentation on the tool.
  • HURST Jaws of Life® is once again arming first responders with a new rescue tool that will get them to the patient faster with the introduction of the M40 Spreader, a battery-powered spreader designed for heavy rescue applications. With a maximum opening width of 40 inches (101.9 centimeters), the M40 is the widest, battery-operated spreader in the market today.

Akron Brass Products

  • Akron Brass has expanded its SAM™ automated water control offerings with SAM BOOST, a retrofitted SAM system that can add new safety and efficiency to any fire apparatus.
  • SAM BOOST retrofits to existing trucks that apply the core of the SAM System, allowing up to two hoselines with automated water flow that can be controlled at the nozzle.

Vetter Products

  • Vetter has upgraded its Vetter Connectable Bags C.Tec 12 N (VCB N), a device with toolless connection technology that ensures a high degree of stability and load capacity while lifting heavy objects in rescue operations such as collapsed buildings, trapped persons and natural disasters.
  • Vetter has expanded its product portfolio for the North American market to include Vetter Safety Cushions. Vetter Safety Cushions serve first responders aiding trapped persons in difficult-to-access heights or needing additional safeguarding during rescue by ladder.
