Port Neches (TX) Fire Department Restores 1940s Fire Hose Hand Cart

PRESS RELEASE

The Port Neches Fire Department has nearly a century of history behind it that involves past, present and future firefighters, apparatus, and equipment.

As part of our mission statement states, “B” shift has been working on a side project to preserve the past by restoring this older piece of equipment circa early 20th century technology.

This fire hose hand cart was used in the early days of our department to deploy fire hose off the cart and to a pump for firefighting efforts.

As our members preserve this equipment, we reflect on all of our past members who have contributed to this department. Their legacy, traditions, and memories live on through the current years.
