North Bend (OR) Fire Department Receives $282K FEMA Grant

Thanks to a generous grant of $282,514 from FEMA, the North Bend (OR) Fire Department is upgrading its breathing apparatus. The department will replace 20-year-old equipment with 32 state-of-the-art self-contained breathing apparatus sets. This move aligns the department with other local fire departments and significantly boosts firefighter safety.

  • We’ve welcomed a brand-new pumper from Florida. After a heartwarming push-in ceremony supported by our wonderful community, our new engine is ready to serve North Bend for years.
  • In collaboration with the Office of the Oregon State Fire Marshal, we’ve tackled a significant wildfire threat in the Pittum Loop area. This is just the beginning, and we’re committed to addressing more areas of concern.
  • Our team showcased some of our fire apparatus during a demonstration at the local high school. It was a fun and informative session for the staff!
  • Despite an unexpected engine rebuild on one of our front-line fire apparatus, our dedicated team ensured it was promptly repaired and back in action. Our vehicles might be mechanical, but our commitment to safety is unwavering.
