When specing its new heavy rescue, the Austin (TX) Fire Department chose a 22′ aluminum SVI body mounted on a 20″ raised roof Spartan Gladiator chassis, which houses a Cummins X15 505-hp engine. This heavy rescue comes equipped with a Wabco single-cylinder, pass-through air compressor, Command Light CL Series CL602A-W2 light tower, Warn 8,000-pound 12-V electric winch, Hannay electric cable reel, a Weldon VMUX multiplex system, Whelen Pioneer scene lights, a 120′ SlideMaster rear cargo slide, OnScene Solutions LED ground and compartment lights, and OnScene Solutions heavy-duty cargo slides.
