Joe Carbenia Honored at Canton (OH) Fire Station

A plaque in honor of Joe Carbenia has been installed outside Canton Fire Department’s station, reports CantonRep.com.

Clara Carbenia, widow of the former councilman and firefighter, joined family members who removed the cardboard and duct tape to reveal his plaque.

The station’s grand opening in 2011 included a dedication to Carbenia, according to The Canton Repository archives. The plaque from that ceremony, which includes a shovel and small inscription, hangs inside the station.
