FEMA Grant for Granville (IA) Fire Apparatus

The Granville Fire & Emergency Medical Services Department recently received two grants from the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program, reports nwestiowa.com.

The larger of the two grants is approximately $280,000 and will be used to help pay for a new 4,000-gallon tanker truck that will replace the department’s 5,000-gallon tanker truck, which dates back to 1983.

The department’s 5,000-gallon tanker truck — which is a former military vehicle — has been on loan from the Iowa Department of Natural Resources since 2000.
