The Bullhead City Fire Department (BCFD) is excited to announce that it has been awarded two significant grants. These grants will enhance our department’s capabilities to better serve the community.

The first grant, funded through Senate Bill 1720 (SB 1720) and provided by the Department of Forestry and Fire Management (DFFM), will contribute $125,000 towards the purchase of a new Type 6 engine. This new engine will complement BCFD’s existing Type 6 engine, allowing for improved response times and greater fire suppression capabilities in difficult-to-reach areas.

Additionally, our department was awarded a second grant through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant program. This grant is a 90/10 award, meaning the federal government will cover 90% of the cost for a new Tactical Tender valued at $463,000. This specialized vehicle will significantly enhance firefighting efforts, particularly in areas with limited water supply.

Both of these new apparatuses will be essential in providing better protection for the residents of Bullhead City and surrounding communities.

“We are thrilled to receive these grants and grateful for the opportunity to better serve our community,” said Patrick Moore, BCFD Fire Chief. “These new vehicles will help improve our emergency response capabilities and increase the safety of both our residents and our firefighters.”
