Greene County (GA) Battalion Chief Killed in Explosion

A battalion chief with Greene County (GA) Fire Rescue has died in the line of duty, according to reports.

Battalion Chief Chris Eddy was killed in an explosion while operating at the scene of a truck fire with other firefighters, according to the Union Reporter.

The explosion happened shortly before 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 4, 2024, on Ga. Route 15 near Lick Skillet Road, on the outskirts of Greensboro, the report noted.
