The Sandy Springs City Council approved a $1.1 million purchase of a new pumper for the fire department recently, roughdraftatlanta.com reported.
The city is getting $236,590 in discounts and a trade-in for a Pierce Custom Enforcer Pumper through Ten-8 Fire and Safety Equipment of Georgia, the report said. Supply chain limitations put the delivery date at 48 months.
The new pumper will send one of the department’s seven frontline pumpers to reserve status and an existing pumper will be traded to Ten-8, according to the report.
Two additional pumpers will be delivered in June 2025, the report said.
