The Rio Grande Fire Department introduced its new fire apparatus at the 153rd annual Bean Dinner Saturday.

“After a year and a half wait our new truck is complete and home,” the department said in a Facebook post. “We ordered this truck about 18 months ago from Deep South Fire Trucks. They really knocked it out of the park. It is replacing a 34-year-old truck. Needless to say the new truck has many new safety features and it is way more reliable to help keep us and our community safe. Thank you for all of your support this wouldn’t have been possible without the communities’ support. This was funded by our tax levies and fundraisers.”
