Gadsden (AL) FD Forms Bucket Brigade to Dedicate New Ladder Truck

Gadsden Fire Department dedicated a new ladder truck Tuesday, July 23, the city said in a Facebook post.

The city invested more than $1 million in the new truck, wbrc.com reported.

The new truck will go into service at Station 4, and it replaces a 17-year-old truck that will be moved into reserve.

Firefighters, friends, family, and community members joined to form a bucket brigade to move a bucket of water from the old fire truck to the new truck, symbolizing the transfer of duty.

“Thank you to the Gadsden Fire Department, who work every day to keep our city safe,” the city said in the post. “Also, thank you to the administration and city council for making the purchase of this new equipment possible.”
