Metuchen, New Jersey has secured $500,000 towards the purchase of a new fire truck for the volunteer fire department, Mayor Jonathan M. Busch said in a Facebook post recently.

Fire vehicles are extraordinarily expensive and this money will help the Borough to continue to ensure the reliability of the fire department and its ability to deliver quality fire protection for the residents, the mayor said in the post.

In recognition of the hard work of so many in the community, Metuchen has received millions of dollars from state, federal, and county governments in the last few years. The strong relationships that have developed with elected officials from across levels of government is unparalleled and Metuchen is extraordinarily appreciative for their continued support, the mayor said.
