The city of Riverside Fire Department received a sizeable grant from the Source Water Protection Fund Program for hazardous materials equipment, the department said in a Facebook post Monday, June 24.
“This equipment will greatly increase our capabilities to respond to spills and leaks from both fixed sites and mobile equipment throughout the Source Water Protection Area,” the post said. “The grant included absorbent pads, pillows, and socks, plug and patch kits for drums, tanks, and pipes, non-sparking tool kits, and pools for saddle tanks.”
