California state Sen. Melissa Hurtado presented a ceremonial check to the city of Dinuba celebrating the $2 million secured in the state budget for public safety equipment, specifically for Dinuba City Fire Department to purchase a new aerial ladder fire truck, the department said in a Facebook post recently.

“This piece of equipment is critical to the operation of our fire department, and we are thankful Senator Hurtado understands the importance of keeping our community safe,” Mayor Maribel Reynosa told those who attended.

The truck, which is currently being built, should be received in early 2025. The new aerial ladder truck will be a valuable asset to the fire department in continuing to protect Dinuba and the surrounding area.
