The College Station Fire Department’s new all-hazards pumper is expected to respond to over 25,000 emergency calls in the next 15 years. The state-of-the-art vehicle is a significant upgrade from its 20-year-old predecessor and is designed to respond to fires, EMS calls, specialty rescues, and hazmat emergencies.
The apparatus was unveiled during a “push-in” ceremony Thursday at Fire Station No. 6.
With its 750-gallon water tank and 1,500-gallon-per-minute pump, the new engine can deliver water or firefighting foam, and its advanced technology and equipment ensure that our firefighters and paramedics can respond to emergencies safely and effectively.
The acquisition of this new pumper is a testament to the College Station City Council, city management, the Fleet Services Division, the Siddons-Martin Emergency Group, and Pierce Manufacturing, who all worked together to make it happen.
Their joint efforts paved the way for enhanced emergency response capabilities in our community.
