Parker District (SC) FD Rescue Truck Struck by Train; One Firefighter Hospitalized

One firefighter was taken to the hospital after a rescue truck with the Parker District Fire Department was hit by a train Sunday evening, wspa.com reported.

According to a fire official, the truck was heading to a car fire when it was hit by a train at the intersection of Church Street and Kerns Avenue, the report said.

Three firefighters were in the truck at the time of the crash, according to the report. Officials said that one person was taken to the hospital but the other occupants are OK, the report said.

CSX and South Carolina Highway Patrol are investigating the crash.
