The Greenville Fire Department made the following post on its Facebook page recently:
The Greenville Fire Department announced the arrival of Engine 2, which was delivered by Lakes Region Fire Apparatus recently, after well over two years of planning, construction, and waiting in anticipation. Engine 2 is an HME Ahrens-Fox custom built pumper designed to fit into the station’s very tight quarters.
Over the coming weeks, Greenville Fire Department members will be preparing Engine 2 to be put into service. This includes loading hose and equipment as well as completing the mounting of tools in the compartments. Additionally, there will be training with the new apparatus to get familiar with how it handles while driving, as well as operating the pump to gain the same level of operational proficiency as it has with the department’s other apparatus.
The fire department wants to thank the voters for approving this purchase in March 2022 in order to fulfill a critical need for the department and the town as a whole. Engine 2 should serve the town for many years to come.
