Reading (PA) Fire Department Orders Five New Pierce Apparatus

The city of Reading and the Reading Fire Department ordered five new apparatus from Pierce Manufacturing, Glick Fire Equipment Company said Wednesday, Oct. 25 in a Facebook post.

The order includes three Pierce Enforcer pumpers, an Enforcer Ascendant 102-foot tiller, and a Pierce/Freightliner Wildland unit.

The pumpers and tiller feature TAK-4 IFS, with TAK-4 on the tiller trailer, Cummins X10 and X15 powerplants, respectively, FireTech HiViz scene lighting and Whelen emergency lights.

The Wildland unit features a Freightliner M2-106 4×4 Chassis, Pierce’s BX3 Stainless Steel Wildland body, 500-gallon water tank, Darley 1,000-gpm PTO pump with auxiliary pump for Pump-and-Roll.

To begin a fleet replacement program, these units were purchased using the Pierce Financial Solutions Turn-In Leasing program.
