The Clermont Fire Department pushed its new $650,000 2023 Pierce Enforcer pumper into service recently at Station 1 with a traditional push-in ceremony, the department said in a Facebook post.
Assistant Chief-Operations Kevin Hoey shared his appreciation to the truck committee that spent countless hours meeting on the design and working on the trucks details and equipment placement to get it ready for service.
Fire Chief Ezell thanked the mayor, city council and the city of Clermont for supporting the fire department and the purchase of the new pumper noting this is the first time in Clermont’s history the department was able to outfit a replacement engine with new equipment.
Chief Ezell shared the importance and the advantages of adding this pumper to the department’s fleet. The firefighters will have an additional reserve engine when there are disasters and it allows the firefighters to provide continued service to the community when there is scheduled maintenance or a truck is out of service for repairs.
