Park City Fire District received its new Engine 33 on May 11. Engine 33 is a Rosenbauer pumper designed and built with a collaboration between PCFD’s apparatus committee and the local Rosenbauer dealership Graham Fire. E33 is a 4-wheel-drive pumper engine that is based off a Freightliner chassis with a with a rescue body and pump designed for the wildland urban interface and the rescue and extrication needs of the 33 response area.
Some of the features of E33 include a high pressure water system, a bumper turret that is fully operational from inside the cab and a clean cab design which eliminates the need to carry contaminated fire gear where the firefighters sit.
E33 also has enhanced scene lighting and traffic advisory lighting that wraps the whole body which should help protect firefighters and alert motorists when a hazard is present on the roadway in which E33 is working.
“This vehicle is built specifically to respond in this area. The 4WD and smaller vehicle size will help with some of the difficulties we encounter responding to the more remote subdivisions. I’m really excited to have this vehicle in our fleet.” Chief Bob Zanetti
