IdentiFire™ Announces Exclusive Relationship with 3M™ Scott™ Fire & Safety

Launches Industry-First NFPA 1981 Certified Facepiece Nameplate at FDIC International 2023

WEST PALM BEACH, FL – IdentiFire™, a manufacturer of innovative, high-visibility, fire safety products, announces its industry-leading facepiece nameplate is now certified to the NFPA 1981 standard as an accessory to the 3M™ Scott™ Air-Pak X3 Pro SCBA.

The approved facepiece nameplate is made exclusively for the 3M™ Scott™ AV-3000 HT Facepiece and 3M™ Scott™ Vision C5 Facepiece and is designed to help improve firefighter accountability on the fireground. The nameplate combines IdentiFire’s signature photoluminescent technology with 3M™ Scotchlite™ Reflective Material, allowing for easy identification in low-light and smoky conditions. The nameplate is also made from high-quality, durable materials, helping to ensure it can withstand the rigors of firefighting.

“We are excited to take our facepiece nameplate to the next level of safety,” said Matt Hyman, President of IdentiFire Safety. “Firefighters historically have ignored the certification requirement for this SCBA accessory due to the safety the nameplate provides. Now they can breathe easier knowing the same solution they have relied on for enhanced accountability is certified to the stringent requirements of the NFPA 1981 standard.”

Certification of the IdentiFire Facepiece Nameplate did not happen overnight. It took countless hours of collaboration and regulatory oversight to ensure all requirements for compliance were met. “Adding the IdentiFire facepiece nameplate as an approved accessory to the Air-Pak SCBA is a testament to the collaborative efforts between both parties,” said Derek Roy, Senior Manager, Application Engineering for 3M Personal Safety Division. “It also highlights what can be done when companies work together for the greater good of the fire service.”

“We’re thrilled to partner with 3M Scott Fire & Safety to offer this innovative product to firefighters across the country,” said Matt Hyman. “Our photoluminescent technology is an ideal fit for the firefighting industry, and we’re confident that this new approval of our facepiece nameplate will provide an additional layer of safety for firefighters.”

The IdentiFire facepiece nameplate will be on display at FDIC 2023 in booth 911 (IdentiFire) and booth 2422 (3M Scott Fire & Safety). Attendees can get a first-hand look, ask questions, and even purchase a nameplate to take home to their department. The approved facepiece nameplate is also available for purchase direct from IdentiFire and authorized 3M™ Scott™ distributors.
