Akron Brass Expands Weldon Technologies

The Akron Brass Company of Wooster, Ohio, plans the addition of a 28,000-square-foot facility in Columbus, Ohio, for its Weldon Division to accommodate business growth.

The facility will serve as a distribution operation for material storage and shipping to Weldon customers in the emergency response and pupil transportation markets.

In addition, Akron Brass appointed Earl Williams as the new operations manager of the Weldon Division. Williams was previously employed in operations with a component supplier to the heavy truck industry.

Weldon, which was acquired by Akron Brass in 2005, is a leading manufacturer of lighting, warning lighting, and multiplexing for fire apparatus, ambulances, school buses and other specialty vehicle markets worldwide.
