Oshkosh Delivers Another Five ARFF Strikers To World’s Busiest Airport

Oshkosh Truck Corporation has delivered and placed into service a second group of five Striker Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) vehicles at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta (Ga.) International Airport, the world’s busiest passenger airport. The deliveries bring the total number of new vehicles to 10 over the last year.

The Striker vehicles are deployed at four fire stations that are located around the airport’s perimeter and at a fifth station adjacent to a new runway.

“This is among the largest number of Striker vehicles in service at a single international airport facility,” said Tim Kiefer, vice president of Oshkosh Truck’s Airport and Municipal Products Group.

The 10 vehicles are Striker 3000 ARFF trucks with 6x6 all-wheel drive. Each is equipped with a 3,000-gallon water tank, TAK-4 independent suspension, roof turret, high volume-low attack bumper turret, twin 500-pound dry chemical fire suppression system and rear vision cameras.

In addition, two of the units are equipped with SNOZZLE 50-foot high-reach extendable turrets.
